Studio Build-Out

The first quest is the room itself. Three hundred square feet sounds like a lot until a laser cutter, a print bay, a desk and a decade of "might be useful" boxes all want the same wall. The only daylight comes from one skylight, so at least every wall is usable.

Objectives

• Find a space in a former tile factory on the Gowanus Canal
• Put up a sign at canalmonster.studio
• Make peace with having no windows (there is a skylight)
• Power, lighting and a sensible amount of extension leads
• Vent the laser outside, safely
• Benches, shelving and storage that isn't just the floor
• Commission the print bay
• Set up the dev desk
• Ship the first project out of the door
